Tata Motors has launched the new Tata Aeris in India with a starting price of Rs. 5.30 lakh (ex-showroom). The model replaces the Tigor with a facelifted and rebranded sedan offered in Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished variants. Prices go up to Rs. 9.75 lakh for the top-spec Accomplished iCNG AMT.
The Aeris is based on the X-ALFA architecture and continues with both petrol and CNG powertrains. Buyers can choose between manual and AMT gearboxes. Tata is also offering six exterior colours: Dandeli Drizzle, Nitro Crimson, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, Pristine White and Dune Glow.
The exterior has received a noticeable makeover. Up front, the sedan gets sharper LED headlamps and DRLs along with a wider lower grille featuring C-shaped housings. The 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are new as well, while the rear now gets connected LED tail lamps.
A More Rugged Exterior Design
Tata has added several other details to give the Aeris a stronger visual appeal. These include new wheel-arch cladding, a black dual-tone roof, a shark-fin antenna and chrome-lined door handles.
The bonnet now sits higher and the squared-off stance gives the sedan a more substantial look. At the back, the boot section has been sculpted to match the updated design. Despite these changes, Tata has retained the familiar notchback silhouette.

More Features Inside The Cabin
The cabin has also been updated with a stronger focus on technology and convenience. A 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system now sits at the centre of the dashboard. It is paired with a 5-inch fully digital instrument cluster.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, while Tata’s iRA connected car technology brings more than 35 connected features. There is also a dual smartphone deck with wireless charging.
Comfort equipment includes AeroLux ventilated leatherette front seats, automatic climate control and rear AC vents. The feature list continues with a six-speaker audio system, 65W Type-C charging, PEPS, a cooled glovebox and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
AMT versions get a rotary gear selector along with paddle shifters, giving the automatic variants a more convenient setup.
Petrol And CNG Engine Options Continue
The powertrain lineup remains familiar. The 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine produces 86 PS at 6,000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 3,300 rpm.
The CNG version develops 75.5 PS at 6,000 rpm and 96.5 Nm at 3,500 rpm. Both fuel options are available with manual and AMT transmissions, giving buyers more flexibility when choosing their preferred setup.

CNG AMT Available Across Higher Variants
The CNG AMT option starts from the Pure variant and continues upwards. This means buyers can choose an automatic transmission with either petrol or CNG depending on their needs.
The petrol Smart and Pure variants use 175/65 R14 tyres. The Pure+, Creative and Accomplished trims get larger 175/60 R15 tyres. The complete iCNG lineup uses 175/65 R14 tyres.
Chassis And Ground Clearance
The X-ALFA platform gives the Aeris 170 mm of ground clearance. The sedan also has a 22.4-degree approach angle, 31.7-degree departure angle and 21.4-degree ramp-over angle.
At the front, the suspension uses an independent lower wishbone with McPherson struts and coil springs. At the rear, Tata has used a semi-independent closed-profile twist beam along with a Dual Path Strut setup.
Safety Features
Safety equipment is another area where the Aeris gets a substantial list of features. Six airbags are offered as standard along with ESP, ABS, EBD, CSC, hill-hold control, ISOFIX mounts and an iTPMS.
The sedan also gets automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and a rear defogger. Higher-end equipment includes a DashCam Recorder and a 360-degree SVS HD camera with both 3D and 2D viewing modes. A Blind View Monitor and HD reversing camera are also available.
The CNG variants receive additional protection features such as leak detection, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection. They also support direct CNG starting and use a single advanced ECU system.

Tata Aeris Takes On The Dzire
With petrol and CNG options available alongside manual and AMT transmissions, the Tata Aeris covers a wide range of buyers. The updated design gives it a fresher appearance while the new cabin brings several features that were previously less common in this segment.
Ventilated seats, connected LED tail lamps, a 360-degree camera, a dashcam and the 10.25-inch touchscreen all raise the equipment level. With these changes, Tata is positioning the Aeris to compete more directly with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Dzire.
