Bajaj Auto has updated the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z with a new 5-inch TFT instrument console and a host of additional connected features. The motorcycle is now priced at Rs. 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), with the latest additions borrowed from newer Pulsar models such as the N160 SS. Google Maps mirroring is one of the key updates, while riders can also access music controls, document storage and a lap timer through the new display.
The TFT console also brings controls for the four ride modes and traction control system. Bajaj has further added a USB Type-C charging port and Panic Brake Alert to the NS400Z. Other equipment, including the bi-directional quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, radial tyres and dual-channel ABS, continues to be offered. With these additions, the NS400Z now packs even more equipment as Bajaj’s flagship naked streetfighter.
The new TFT setup has pushed the price of the NS400Z up by around Rs. 4,000. Mechanical specifications, however, remain unchanged. The motorcycle continues with its 349 cc, four-valve, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine, which produces 40 PS at 9,000 rpm and 33 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox handles transmission duties, while Bajaj claims a power-to-weight ratio of 229 PS per tonne. The electronic throttle body works with the four selectable ride modes and traction control system.
On the suspension front, the NS400Z continues with 43 mm upside-down front forks. Braking hardware remains unchanged as well, with disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS.
Google Maps mirroring displays navigation information directly on the 5-inch TFT, making it easier to follow directions without relying on a separate phone mount. The console also lets riders control music and access selected vehicle-related information through the document storage function.
The new lap timer adds another useful feature for riders who enjoy timed sessions, while the Panic Brake Alert adds another layer to the motorcycle’s safety equipment. These features work alongside the existing dual-channel ABS and traction control.
The update comes as the Pulsar brand celebrates its 25th year and marks the biggest change to the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z’s instrumentation since its launch. Bajaj is also rolling out the new TFT console across more models in the Pulsar family, including the NS125, NS200 and N250, with some of these motorcycles already reaching dealerships.
