Toyota is working on a facelift for the Innova Hycross and recent spy images have given us a good idea of what could change. The updated MPV is expected to make its debut early next year. Most of the styling changes seem focused on the front while the rear is likely to get a lighter refresh. The cabin could see more noticeable changes with a larger infotainment screen and revised digital displays.
Sharper Front End Design
The biggest visual change appears to be at the front. The facelifted Innova Hycross is expected to get a large mesh-style grille positioned below a slim LED lighting setup. The lights stretch across the upper section of the bonnet and give the MPV a wider appearance.
The headlamps look narrower and more angular than the units on the current model. They also sit closer to the outer edges of the bonnet which gives the front a more defined look.
A redesigned bumper adds sharper lower air intakes along with horizontal elements. Separate fog-lamp housings are also expected near the corners.
Patent Design Hints At More Details
Patent images offer a few more clues about the possible design. The front could feature a diamond-pattern insert below the circular badge mount. Angular openings may sit on both sides of the lower bumper along with a horizontal slat across the lower section.
Several rectangular sections are also visible along the lower edge. These could be used for parking sensors or other equipment.
Compared with the front the rear changes appear much less significant.
Subtle Updates At The Rear
The taillamps are expected to retain their basic shape but could receive new LED graphics. A black trim piece may also run between the two units across the tailgate.
The rear bumper looks similar to the current version based on the spy images. The roof spoiler shark fin antenna and rear wiper are also expected to remain unchanged.
This suggests Toyota is putting most of its design effort into giving the front end a more modern appearance.
Bigger Screen And Updated Cabin
Inside the cabin the changes could be more noticeable. Spy images show a larger free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with slimmer bezels.
The rest of the dashboard appears fairly similar to the current Innova Hycross. However the digital instrument cluster could receive updated graphics and display more vehicle information.
Toyota is also expected to improve the connected technology package. Additional safety equipment could be added as part of the facelift as well.
Existing Powertrains Likely To Continue
Major mechanical changes are not expected with the facelift. The current Innova Hycross uses a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 173 hp and comes with a CVT automatic transmission.
The strong hybrid version combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. It produces a claimed 184 hp system output and uses an e-CVT.
Toyota is likely to carry these powertrains forward rather than making major changes to the engine lineup.
More Advanced ADAS Technology
Another possible upgrade could be a more comprehensive Level 2 ADAS package. Toyota may expand the assistance features offered with the Innova Hycross to provide better support in everyday driving.
If added, the upgraded system could make the MPV more competitive against newer rivals that already offer a wider range of driver assistance technology.
Expected Price Increase
With the exterior updates and expected improvements inside the cabin the price of the facelifted Innova Hycross could rise slightly.
Toyota is yet to reveal the official pricing and complete equipment list. More details should emerge closer to the launch.

The 2027 Toyota Innova Hycross appears to be getting a focused refresh rather than a complete redesign. A sharper front end a more modern cabin and additional technology could help keep the popular MPV competitive while its existing petrol and strong hybrid powertrains are expected to remain largely unchanged.
